We know that you want more than a degree, you want to excel in a professional healthcare career.
Cleveland University-Kansas City (CUKC) provides a solid education that leads to job opportunities in Radiologic Technology. A radiologic technologist, unlike a technician, is a medical professional who is certified and registered to perform diagnostic imaging examinations, such as X-rays, for physicians to assist in the diagnosis of a disease or trauma.
CUKC is devoted to health education and wellness
At CUKC, students can complete their Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology degree in as little as two years. Focused 8-week evening courses on campus are designed to immerse you into your class subjects.
Students receive hands-on training and gain experience on campus in two functional radiologic equipment rooms and in the University’s two demonstration suites. Additionally, students receive clinical experience in partner clinics throughout greater Kansas City and surrounding communities.
Become part of a growing profession
More than half of all radiologic technologists work in hospitals, while others work in diagnostic clinics, physician group practices, mobile imaging facilities, and surgery centers. Projections show that as the population ages and new imaging technologies emerge, there will be an increased need for diagnostic imaging.
The employment of radiologic technologists is anticipated to grow at 9% through 2028, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a faster rate than the average for all occupations. Data from the 2019 Wage and Salary Survey by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) indicates a rad tech with two years of employment could expect an average yearly compensation between $44-48,000.
Cleveland University-Kansas City admits students to the Radiologic Technology program two times per year. Students complete eight general education prerequisite courses, then spend 16 months receiving instruction in a classroom setting and in a clinical training environment. Courses are in the evenings from 6-10 p.m. Clinical training occurs at affiliated medical and imaging facilities in the surrounding communities. Clinical education schedules vary by assignment and may include traditional daytime hours, evenings, and/or weekends.
The A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology degree at CUKC is officially recognized as an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) approved educational provider for Radiography.

On completion of the degree program, CUKC graduates will have met the educational eligibility requirements needed to take The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography Examination to become a registered and certified radiologic technologist.
Once ARRT certified and registered, radiologic technologists need to renew their certification and registration annually as well as meet continuing education requirements. Licensure varies by state.
Kansas recognizes ARRT registration and certification as part of the requirements needed for licensure. Missouri does not require licensing, but may at any time. Most facilities only employ ARRT registered radiologic technologists.
